Dear 15 year old Me,

Dear 15 year old Me,

It’s easy to seek for identity in success, in grades, in your image, in friends, or in sports and activities. When you do that though, you limit your perspective on the world, and especially on God.

Your search for identity is never ending, but if you could somehow understand that identity really isn’t found in those things, but simply because you are… pressure would release and freedom would fall.

You are created perfectly.

You are valued.

You are designed to simply be loved by God.

That’s it. You’re his beloved. You can’t earn that.

I know you would agree, and say, “Yeah, I know God loves me, and I love Him in return.” But can you imagine, God becoming so real, that your love for him actually takes over every part of your life?

Probably not yet, and that’s okay.

Your love for Him will only grow deeper as you get older. As you grow, and allow God to use you, He’ll blow your mind and invade your heart in ways you had no idea were possible. Trust him, and look for your identity in Him. He has more for you than you think.

Love,

24 year old you
