Welcome to story time!
This blog began from a night where I decided to re-read a high school journal [which is quite embarrassing].
I kept thinking "Oh Caitlin, if only you knew what was to come."
Those thoughts, plus a desire to do something more with my passions, brought me here.
I've discovered a few things that really bring me Life: Jesus. Good Music. Hanging out and walking through life with high school and college age women. Learning from women who are further along in life. And, sharing stories. I've recently realized that I also really enjoy writing my own.
So in an attempt to do all that at once, Storybook Lady was born. This is a place for me to share stories of my life. Some random [maybe pointless], but mostly stories that have taught me a thing or two about life, God, being a female in this age, and everything in between. My bigger dream is to bring in other writers; Family and friends who have a story to share as well.
I'm writing from just a few steps down the road to a teenage me, to my sisters, my friends, my future daughters. I'm also writing these things for the future me, so I don't forget. I believe lessons are meant to be shared. it might get personal, beware. But, I believe we women have a lot to offer, and I want to use the art of story telling to create conversations and encouragement.
Thanks for reading!
Caitlin
p.s... Question: where did Storybook Lady come from?
Answer: my favorite movie, You've Got Mail, when Meg Ryan's character becomes the Storybook Lady in her book shop at 3:00. What a magical time.
